We at GGIF have a strong belief for what we stand for and have taken recourse to various democratic means to campaign for our cause.
Public Interest Litigation (PIL)
In Indian law, Public Interest Litigation means a lawsuit filed for the protection of the public interest. It is litigation introduced in a court of law, not by the aggrieved party but by the court itself or by any other private party. It is not necessary, for the exercise of the court’s jurisdiction, that the person who is the victim of the violation of his or her right should personally approach the court.
In 2007 we had filed a PIL questioning the validity of Section 2 of the Constitution (42nd Amendment) Act, 1976, by virtue of which the word “Socialist” was inserted in the Preamble of the Constitution. In the same year we also filed a PIL seeking the restoration of the Right to Property which was omitted from the list of fundamental rights by the 44th amendment.

We at GGIF have wielded the pen to fight to espouse our cause through newspaper articles on the right to property and other writings. We have a vision to rope in more people coming from various backgrounds, who can be an essential part of our campaign.
